This blog is for friends and family who want to follow my dollhouse build.   So welcome family, old friends and hopefully many new friends.  I wanted a new project.  Something that would capture my interest and keep me out of trouble.   Was searching the internet one day and stumbled upon a dollhouse site quite by accident and I was hooked.

So after looking at different models I kept coming back to the Garfield by Greenleaf.  This may have not been the best dollhouse to start with for a newbie builder.  But at the time my thought process was that this could possibly be the only dollhouse I would ever build and I wanted to do it right.  So instead of settling on a easier model.  I followed my heart and jumped in with both feet.

I love this house, it has captured my imagination.  I have tons of ideas and can picture it completed in my mind.  So welcome to my journey.  Let’s see if I can pull it off.

    1. Ok girlfriend, when will you start building yours? You’re way more artistic than I am. I bet you would create a really cool dollhouse. Jump in.

  1. Hello~ I love your window seat! I have just purchased an old stock one that looks similar to yours, except it is plaster. I just cannot figure out how to completely install it. Can you please post another photo of your dollhouse with it, from the front of the window? I think I can get a better idea of it from the photo.

    Thank you so much!

    1. I’ll take a couple of pictures from different angles tonight and try to have them posted for you tomorrow, Friday. Thank you for your comments. Both window seats were constructed from the cut outs of the kit. I just changed the windows so I could install working ones. The bottom window seats butts up to the house. I’ll take a picture for you. The upstairs window seat is a removable pieces even when the dollhouse is finish so it fits into a slot. I’ll post several pictures so you can see from a bunch of different angles.

  2. Thank you, Jodie, for telling me about your website here (on Greenleaf forum). So much to explore and looking forward to it!! Peggy

  3. Hi there I am new to your site. I love it. I’m working on my Garfield dol house now. Please, please tell me where you found the working replacement windows. I MUST have them!
So inspired by all your work. Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon.

    1. Hi Joan,

The single windows are chrysnbon kits. They are a white plastic that were fairly easy to put together, these kits are reasonably priced. I believe that I paid 9.99 each for them. Since there are so many windows to replace in the garfield cost for me was a consideration. The great thing about the garfield is it’s easy to modify. There are so many window options that you can find your personal preference. I purchased my window kits off the internet. I think is was superior dollhouse website. But you can most likely find them on any dollhouse website. You may find other windows that you like better. Just watch measurement and be sure your modifications will fit. I ended up using 3 different window types. I did spend more money for the 4 side windows and 2 kitchen windows. Have fun choosing yours. Post your pictures on the green leaf website. It’s always fun to see other peoples visions. Good Luck. Building a dollhouse is so much fun I really hope you enjoy yours.
